In November 2014 Mercy Health underwent accreditation to the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. Following a week-long onsite survey, Mercy Health was deemed to have met all 209 criteria relating to the 10 National Standards for health services. Mercy Mental Health also met the additional 68 mental health standards. This achievement is testament to the passion and commitment of our staff who are committed to improving the safety and quality of care for all consumers.
The National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards were developed by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care to drive the implementation of systems and improve care. The 10 Standards provide a nationally consistent statement about the level of care consumers can expect from health service organisations.
