This Graduate Program offers nursing and allied health graduates an innovative and comprehensively supported year.
Clinical rotations through bed-based and community teams are combined with 18 study days to ensure new graduates develop strong foundational skills in all areas of mental health clinical practice.
Number of Positions
4 nursing graduates and at least 1 occupational therapy graduate are selected for the graduate year program.
Additional allied health graduates are selected when positions become available.
Overview of the program
Thorough orientation on commencement and at change of placements
- 18 paid study days

Clinical rotations in bed-based services

Supernumerary rotations in acute and rehabilitation community services.

A clinical skills development program that ensures a high level of expertise.

Regular clinical supervision in addition to the support provided by preceptors and educators.

Credit points at university for the post graduate Diploma in Mental Health.
Our flexible program is tailored to the individual needs of each graduate to ensure they develop from a 'novice practitioner' to a competent and effective member of the mental health care team.
Support
and guidance is available from the Graduate Program Coordinator, Clinical teachers, Unit Managers and preceptors/ registered nurses who have a broad range of clinical experience
